Hi, I’m Dr Jana Rossouw. 

I am passionate about the miracle that is pregnancy.  I am inspired by women, raising children with beautiful hearts.  Our mantra is:  “It takes a village to raise a child”.  We are part of this adventure.  
I worked in the government sector for 15 years.  I have experienced first world obstetrics in Boston, Massachusetts. Then I embarked on the path of private practice Fetal and Maternal Medicine in Cape Town.  Experience have filled me with empathy, knowledge, heart and deep understanding of this art. 
We are mothers, sharing stories, burdens and laughter.  We love children and appreciate the importance of the family, and extended family, raising their children together.

Hi, I am Adel Kirsten.

I grew up on a farm in the Free State, where I was raised with strong values, a deep appreciation for community, and the rewards of hard work. Life on the farm taught me the importance of connection, commitment, and doing things properly—principles that continue to guide me every day in my work.

I am a qualified obstetric sonographer, with additional experience in general ultrasound. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of patients, including many years at Karl Bremer Hospital before grounding myself in private practice.

While I’m easygoing and approachable by nature, I am meticulous when it comes to my work. Accuracy, care, and compassion are at the heart of every scan I perform. I truly value the relationships I’ve built over time—many of them with families I’ve had the joy of seeing grow, child by child.

Being able to walk alongside families during some of their most meaningful moments is both a privilege and a passion.

Hi, I am Dr Elrike van der Merwe. 

I have worked in many settings: government sector, private obstetrics and gynaecology, management rolls after obtaining my MBA, worked on an island, and have adopted many stray animals.
I find myself in a place where quality service is what I strive for.  I would like to create a safe place for patients to talk about difficult gynaecological conditions, and topics around being women. 
Having perspective on the world, helps me provide this part of the village to patients.

Hi, I am Sister Lizane Fuzy.

I am a trained midwife, and have worked in various public hospitals of which most recently, Tygerberg Hospital, but also in the Mediclinic and Netcare groups.  I am most proud of being the mother of two fiesty, twin girls.  I have survived the challenges, and have cherished the blessing.
Experiencing the highs and lows of pregnancy and childbirth first-hand and reading often-shared inaccurate information on mom-groups, motivated me to design online antenatal classes and practical guides, to help future first time moms and dads.   This provides professional, evidence-based information, with practical tips.  I have a passion to help moms have confident births and dads to become part of the journey and not just spectators.

Our Services

  • We are able to confirm your pregnancy (location of pregnancy, fetal heart beat), and the gestational age. We will be performing an early ultrasound (preferably after 8 weeks of missing your menstruation).

  • Both Dr Jana Rossouw and Adel Kirsten are accredited by The Fetal Medicine Foundation, based in the United Kingdom, to perform the first trimester risk assessment and pre-eclampsia screening. We undergo auditing on a yearly basis, to keep our skill standard.

    The second trimester detailed ultrasound evaluates your baby systematically from head to toes. We follow the guidelines of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

  • Dr Jana Rossouw, specialised in taking care of patients with medical conditions, complex family history or previous complicated obstetric events.

    She will assist you to optimise all the modifiable variables.

  • Dr Elrike van der Merwe, qualified obstetrician and gynaecologist, will assist you with consultation on your problem.

    She is contracted with Discovery and GEMS, and therefore charges medical aid rates.

  • We are able to assist your treating general practitioner by performing a gynaecological ultrasound (trans-abdominal or trans-vaginal), in order to guide management.

    Dr Jana Rossouw, also assists two local paediatric endocrinologists, by performing uterine and ovarian volumes, on the patients with precocious puberty.

  • Mental wellness is extremely important in the pregnancy village. Should you feel concerned or need help, please feel free to mention it during your consultation. We can help you to discuss safe management options.
